Mediobanca appoints Roland Berger as Senior Advisor in Germany

Frankfurt, 3 September 2008 --- Italian investment bank Mediobanca has appointed Prof. Dr. h.c. Roland Berger as Senior Advisor for the German speaking markets. Roland Berger (70) is known as one of the leading strategy consultants in Germany. Today Roland Berger is holding the position as chairman of the supervisory board of Roland Berger Strategy Consultant which he founded in 1967.

Mediobanca opened its German office in October 2007 in Frankfurt. In the German speaking markets the bank focuses on Corporate Finance and Structured Finance where it sees excellent growth opportunities.

His new role as Senior Advisor of Mediobanca is not the first exposure of Roland Berger to Italian companies. Following his studies in economics Roland Berger worked for an American consulting firm from 1962 to 1967. He then founded his own consultancy business Roland Berger Strategy Consultants where he was CEO until 2003 when he changed to the supervisory board. Roland Berger is also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of his private Roland Berger Foundation which has an endowment fund of 50 Mio. Euros. The Roland Berger Foundation is committed to protecting human dignity and human rights worldwide, and to facilitating access to high-quality education for talented young people from weaker social classes in Europe. At the same time Roland Berger is a member of various supervisory and advisory boards of national and international companies, foundations and organizations among them several Italian corporates.
