MSCI raises Mediobanca's ESG rating from BB to A

MSCI has revised Mediobanca’s ESG rating from BB to A.
This confirms Mediobanca’s commitment to ESG issues, which have been integrated into the 2019-23 Strategic Plan to strengthen the Group’s ethical and responsible business model in its pursuit of a sustainable path to growth.

This commitment has also been demonstrated by the Bank’s adherence, in June 2021, to the Principles for Responsible Banking promoted by the United Nations, to direct the banking sector towards realization of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Further proof of the attention which Mediobanca is devoting to ESG issues is the event which the Bank is organizing and promoting, to be held on 18 November 2021, titled “BEYOND ESG AND SUSTAINABILITY - A NEW STRATEGIC DIRECTION”, and dedicated to institutional investors and representatives of large and mid corporate clients. With Alberto Nagel and severa illustrious guests in attendance, the conference will explore in more depth some of the new challenges facing the banking system in particular, and Italy in general, on the back of increasingly close integration between ESG and sustainability principles.

MSCI ESG Ratings are designed to measure a company’s resilience to long-term, industry material environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks.
