Mediobanca appoints Philippe Dufournier as Managing Director and Head of Lending and Structured Finance

Mediobanca today announces the appointment of Philippe Dufournier as Managing Director and Head of Lending and Structured Finance, the role previously held by Massimo Di Carlo. Based in London, Dufournier reports directly to Alberto Nagel (CEO of Mediobanca and Co-Head of CIB) and Stefano Marsaglia (Executive Chairman and Co-Head of CIB).

Philippe Dufournier’s career spans more than twenty-five years, having worked previously for Deutsche Bank, Lehman Brothers and Nomura, where he was most recently Head of Global Finance for the EMEA area.

Alberto Nagel commented: “The arrival of Philippe Dufournier will enable greater co-operation with our investment banking activities, particularly in event-driven situations, and promote more effective use of the capital allocated to lending and structured finance activities”.

Stefano Marsaglia, Executive Chairman of Mediobanca and co-Head of Corporate and Investment Banking, added: “I am delighted that Philippe has decided to join us. His extensive experience in international financial markets will prove instrumental for the further development of our lending and financing activities and his appointment marks a further important step towards the completion of our Corporate and Investment Banking senior management team”.
