Mediobanca launches new commercial paper programme
Mediobanca has launched a new Multi-Currency Commercial Paper Programme, taking advantage of the new opportunities introduced by Italian Decree Law No. 34/2020 (the “Relaunch Decree”) which make it possible, among other things, for banks to issue this type of financial instrument.
Mediobanca has developed the €4bn Programme in order to diversify its own funding. The Programme has been admitted to trading on the ExtraMOT PRO, the professional segment of the ExtraMOT Market, a multilateral trading facility operated by Borsa Italiana S.p.A., in accordance with the criteria and requisites established by the Market Convention on Short-Term European Paper (STEP), having obtained the relevant compliance certification (STEP Label). The commercial papers will be issued in dematerialized form through the centralized system operated by Monte Titoli S.p.A.
The programme has obtained the following ratings: F3 from Fitch, A-2 from S&P, and P-2 from Moody’s.
The minimum size of the securities, which will be €100,000 or the equivalent in other currencies, may be increased from time to time in accordance with the terms and conditions of the individual issues.
Commercial papers are a short-term financing instrument used widely on the market, which will enable Mediobanca to raise funds at money market expiries.
The Information Memorandum illustrating the terms and conditions of the Programme has been published at www.mediobanca.com.
