Mediobanca receives clearance for 370% Assicurazioni Generali investment weighting

Mediobanca hereby gives notice that in the last few days it has received authorization, under Article 471 of EU regulation 575/13 (the “CRR”) for its investment in Assicurazioni Generali (which at 31 March 2014 represented 13.24% of that company’s share capital and was carried at a book value of €2,605m) to be weighted at 370%.

Taking this ruling inter alia into account, as at 31 March 2014 the Group reflected (CRDIV/CRR):

• total risk-weighted assets amounting to €58,417m, €9,637m of which attributable to the Assicurazioni Generali investment
• a CET1 ratio, phase-in, of 10.3% (total capital ratio 12.1%)
• a CET1 ratio, fully-phased, of 10.9%.

It should also be noted that the repayment of €750m hybrid loans to Unipol-SAI which has taken place since 31 March 2014 leads to an approx. 60bps improvement in Mediobanca’s capital ratios.
