Werner Peyer appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Compagnie Monégasque de Banque

The Board of Directors of CMB has today appointed Mr Werner Peyer as a Director of the Bank. Starting from 1 March 2010 Mr Peyer shall also take on the role of Chief Executive Officer of CMB.
 
Mr. Peyer, 55 years old, is a Swiss with consolidated international experience in offshore and onshore private banking in outstanding institutions such as Credit Suisse, Coutts Bank, and UBS. He held a high number of relevant positions in the industry in different locations (Johannesburg, Gibraltar, Geneva, London, Zurich). Mr. Peyer also knows well the banking place in Monaco, where he founded Coutts Monaco in 1999 and served as Chairman until 2002. In UBS he reached the position of Group Vice Chairman of Global Wealth Management.
 
CMB, arm of the Mediobanca Group’s private banking division, was founded in 1976 and has established itself as one of the leading banks of the Principality of Monaco ever since. The appointment of Mr Peyer is intended to develop and diversify the client base of CMB and strengthen the bank’s international growth strategy, with a particular focus to the Swiss market where the bank is already present with a branch in Lugano.
