Education:

Virginie Banet graduated in Economics from the Université de Paris II Assas and from Sciences Po (Institut d’études Politiques de Paris). She also graduated from the SFAF (Société Française des Analystes Financiers).

Career:

She has around thirty years’ experience of working in the banking sector, having held investment banking roles and corporate experience in Investor Relations: she is an expert in financial markets, and has substantial experience in M&A, sustainability, and corporate governance of listed companies.
She has been a Director of Mediobanca since 2020, and until 2023 served as a member of the Remunerations Committee.
She served as Director of Netgem between 2020 and 2023, and of Vallourec from 2020 to 2021.

Prior to that she held various positions: Director of Lagardère from 2021 to 2025, Managing Director of Nomura from 2015 to 2019, Partner of ONDRA Partners – Corporate Finance Advisory from 2014 to 2015, Executive Committee member of Natixis from 2011 to 2014 (in particular Deputy Head of Coverage & Advisory from 2013-14 and Global Head of Coverage and M&A from 2011-12), member of the Lagardère Media Executive Committee and Head of Investor Relations and M&A Projects for the Financial Department of Lagardère from 2008 to 2010, Managing Director of Deutsche Bank from 1995 to 2008, and Senior Vice President Head of M&A of Airbus in 2006.
