Career: | Maurizio Costa has been director of Mediobanca since 28 October 2014. Maurizio Costa has a degree in mechanical engineering. He started his career working for the IRI group as a production engineer, and then worked in management consulting. He joined the Montedison Group in 1984, having served as Director of Strategies and Development for Standa from 1985 to 1988 and as General Manager of the Standa group from 1989 to 1992. He joined Mondadori in 1992 as Director of Investee Companies and Business Development. In 1994 he became CEO of the Elemond Group, which includes Electa, Einaudi and Elemond Scuola. In 1997, he was appointed CEO of Arnoldo Mondadori Editore, becoming Deputy Chairman in 2003. He left Mondadori in March 2013 to become Deputy Chairman of Fininvest S.p.A., from which post he resigned in June 2014 when he was appointed Chairman of the Italian publishers’ and newspapers’ federation FIEG. |
