Career:

Alberto Pecci has been director of Mediobanca since 27 October 2012 and Deputy Chairman since 28 October 2017.

He graduated in Political Sciences in 1967, having also taken courses in Economics and Marketing at the New School for Social Research in New York.

He started his career working for BNL USA, then devoted himself to Lanificio Pecci, the family textile business.

He took part in the establishment and development of  the group’s businesses in the hotel and advanced electronics industries: the former with Art Hotel, the latter in particular with El.En, European leader in laser production, with production and research bases in North and South America and the Far East.

He was made Cavaliere del Lavoro in June 1992.

He has served as director of Mediobanca, Assicurazioni Generali and Banca Intesa, and first as Deputy Chairman (1988-93) then Chairman (1993-2002) of Fondiaria Assicurazion’.
