The "Mediobanca Group Sport Camp" returns to Nisida in Naples. Ninth edition of the social inclusion project in juvenile detention centers
Sport as a tool for redemption and social inclusion: with this spirit, the ninth edition of the Gruppo Mediobanca Sport Camp kicks off. This initiative promotes the reintegration of young detainees through teamwork, sharing, and respect for rules. The Camp returns this year to the Juvenile Detention Institute of Nisida, in Naples, from June 30 to July 4.
The program includes five days of sports activities led by former Italian national rugby champion Diego Dominguez, supported by his team, who will once again serve as the special coach for the 80 young participants. The boys, aged between 14 and 18, will engage in rugby, soccer, basketball, and other disciplines, accompanied by a group of volunteers from the Mediobanca Group.
During the Camp, athletes and volunteers will meet with the young detainees to share experiences and convey, through sport, fundamental values such as respect, discipline, and self-confidence, thus helping to create an environment of growth and new perspectives.
The positive results of previous editions of the initiative, held in juvenile detention centers in Naples and Milan, have encouraged Mediobanca to renew the experience, strengthening its commitment to fostering trust, collaboration, and a sense of belonging among young detainees.
“Each edition of the Camp reminds us how sport can be a bridge between different worlds,” said Giovanna Giusti del Giardino, Group Chief Sustainability Officer at Mediobanca. “In Nisida, we found enthusiasm, a willingness to get involved, and contagious energy. It is a privilege for us to contribute to building new perspectives for these young people.”
