Mediobanca Group best in class according to Consob and Bank of Italy Report on Women on Boards of Directors

On 8 March 2021, the Bank of Italy and Consob published a report prepared by a think-tank set up jointly by the two institutions, on the presence of women on management and supervisory boards of Italian companies.

The report shows that there has been an improvement in the gender balance for Italian listed companies between 2011 and 2019, with the percentage of women increasing both at BoD level (from 7% to 37%) and control units (from 7% to 39%).

We are proud that the Mediobanca Group’s decision to prioritize gender diversity in appointing its new BoD, 40% of whom are women, positions us as best in class for our reference market (where listed banks have an average of 37% and unlisted banks 15% of women on their Boards of Directors).
