Staff remuneration policies
The remuneration policy operated by Mediobanca is intended to attract and retain professional staff in particular for key positions and roles, commensurate with the complexity and specialization of the business, and based on a rationale of prudent management and sustainable costs and results over time. Increasing internationalization requires constant monitoring of the individual geographical situations in order to maintain distinctive professional standards in a competitive market scenario.
Mediobanca pays continuous attention to the regulatory requirements in respect of structuring staff remuneration packages, the methods and instruments by which the various components are paid, which for key staff include suitable performance-related pay mechanisms that are risk-adjusted and extend over several years, and payment instruments which are structured to include an appropriate equity/cash mix and allow the economic benefits linked to the Bank’s results to be diversified over time.
